About the Book
Title: The Quarter Change
Author: Kiarra M. Taylor
Genre: Contemporary Romance

The-Quar-ter- Change:
/T͟Hē, ˈkwôrdər, CHānj/
Noun
A drastic personality change brought on by a person’s upcoming twenty-fifth birthday and the realization that they have been EXISTING for a quarter of a century but not LIVING.

Kimbella Tyler is done floating through life…
She’s turning twenty-five in a few weeks, and even though she’s in the prime of her life, living by the motto “Keep head down or in a book” hasn’t exactly been fun. Sick of hanging in the background of life, Kimbella embarks on a mission to leave her introverted ways in the past and live by a new motto—“Liquor. Lust. Living.”. The first step in her mission is to change her surroundings. Armed with her “Quarter List” full of fun local attractions and wild, adventurous things that she was always too introverted to do, Kimbella heads to California for two weeks of no holds barred fun.

An unlisted attraction…
Kimbella’s carefully laid plans are interrupted when she meets the crazy sexy Dr. Roman Tanzman and he attaches himself to her at the hip. Rolling with the punches for once in her life, Kimbella takes Roman along as she goes on the adventure of a lifetime—well the adventure of a quarter of a lifetime.

Liquor. Lust. Living Love…?
Kimbella's new life is one she’s always dreamed about; filled with hot nights with Roman, endless fancy dinners and dancing and no shortage of liquor. But with Kimbella pretending to be a bold, outgoing and sexually forward woman, and Roman pretending to be a carefree guy who isn’t going through the most trying time of his life, their facades have the potential to be their very undoing. Liquor and lust were part of the plan—love certainly wasn’t.

Book Excerpts
I held out a hand to stop him from invading my personal space and throwing me all off balance.
“You’re not sorry. In fact, I don’t even think you care about me beyond being able to have sex with me whenever you want to!” I accused.
He drew back in shock. “That’s absolutely not fucking true! I was the one who wanted to wait a while before jumping into bed with you. How could you even say that? I care, KB…I care too fucking much,” he said angrily.
I shook my head as tears pooled in my eyes. “Then why haven’t you said one single thing about…about us?” I asked in a vulnerable voice.
His brows rose. “‘Us’? KB, you made it clear from the first day I met you that you didn’t want there to even be an ‘us’. You just wanted to ‘get fucked’, as you so eloquently put it. And I think I’ve more than fulfilled my obligation in that area.”
My eyes widened. “You know what, Doctor? Fuck. You,” I spat angrily.
I turned, all too ready to leave, but I caught sight of him going back to eating his breakfast like our blow-up had never even happened. My anger surged higher than I could control and I strode back over to the breakfast bar and knocked both plates off the table in one sweeping motion.
Roman held his hands in the air, fork still in one of them, and looked at me in shock.
“You don’t get to sit there and just eat your breakfast after you’ve just ripped my heart out of my chest!” I yelled.
“How? How did I do that when your heart was never even accessible to me? So don’t…don’t stand there and yell at me pretending like you were in love with me or something, Kimbella. We both came into this knowing what it was. And it’s over now,” he said somberly.

Review:

Absolutely fabulous love story about finding yourself.  Kimbella decides that for her 25th birthday she is going to change everything about herself and make herself a better person.  Along the way she finds that she is not the new person she is trying to be, but she isn't who she used to be either.  And love has a way of sneaking up on you when you are least expecting it.  But the course of true love never did run smooth.  Love may not be enough this time.

While some of the information about the characters comes in odd places changing how you view the,. the story resolves happily.  I think I would like being friends with these people.

I give this book 4 out of 5 clouds.

Once again, she will have to choose. She will have to make the right decision. She will have to believe that Christmas miracles can still happen.

Praise for Christmas Diary by Elyse Douglas:

"The Christmas Diary is a tender hearted story of one woman's journey of self-discovery and finding true love that will pull at your emotional heartstrings. The authors weave an inspirational tale written in the third person narrative, that draws the reader into Alice and Jack's lives, and the issues that they've faced: love and loss, questioning one's life choices, and the decision of which road/path is best to take in one's life. This is a wonderful story that has a meaningful message within the storyline that will touch your heart. The authors' descriptive writing style is phenomenal: the characters are realistic and down-to-earth people whose emotions, dialogue and interactions are palpable, you can feel the range of highs and lows that they endure. The reader is transported to the picturesque holiday setting of the Pennsylvania towns of Eden Grove and Meadow Green. This captivating story has a mixture of mystery, tender romance, and a supernatural twist that makes The Christmas Diary a compelling and entertaining story that will warm your heart."- Kathleen, Jersey Girl Book Review "If you are a fan of Richard Paul Evans novels then you definitely want to grab The Christmas Diary. This is a super quick read that you pick up on a Saturday afternoon and devour in one sitting. One glorious afternoon sitting. It is a story of love and changes with a paranormal twist. I adored this book. It was quick and simple and really perfect. I loved how everything was tied together through a ghost. A quick holiday read that makes me think of Lifetime and Hallmark channel movies.”- Andrea Guy, A Chick Who Reads " The Christmas Diary" is a nice smooth read filled with emotions and a touch of the paranormal world. Elyse pens her characters well developed, believable and lovable in this Christmas romance story. Highly recommended for all who love a nice enjoyable romance tale."- Susan Peck, My Cozie Corner

Charming love story about finding true love.  In this story a young widow who married her childhood sweetheart because she was pregnant finds that there are different types of love.  She had comfortable love.  A work trip to New York gives her a second chance at an old love.  But what happens when a chance meeting with a stranger leads to a second date and more.  Then she walks away from love because she doesn’t think that love can come so fast.  Will she have her happily ever after or regrets?  I’m not telling, you have to read to find out.

About this author

Hello! Donnielle here. I’m a new indie young adult author. When I’m not writing, I spend my time reading, binge watching Netflix, homeschooling my two children, and hanging out with my husband.

A few fun facts about me:

1. I began writing when I was in junior high. A teacher approached me with a poetry book and I fell in love. Writing poetry has helped me express myself through some of the darkest times in my life.

2. I am always reading something and own hundreds of eBooks. I thank the technology gods for the invention of e-readers. Series are my favorite. I love it when I feel like I cannot stop reading a book. My favorite genre is sci-fi and paranormal.

3. I am a HUGE nerd and enjoy every medium of nerdom from comic books to Magic! The Gathering.

4. I am a serious introvert and need plenty of alone time so I don’t go insane. Seriously! I will cut someone if they cut in to my “me” time.

5. I have a passion for holistic medicine and create many of my own household products. My kids and husband will ask for some “oils” when they aren’t feeling well. I love growing herbs to make my own blends of herbal tea.

6. I read YA almost exclusively. There is just something about it that calls to my heart above other genres.

7. When I read paranormal it’s either about shifters or faeries.

8. Writing has always been a passion and a dream. I had many jobs and they never fulfilled me the way writing has.

Review:

This series is fabulous.  I love the mythos and the honest down to earth characters.  I can relate to their emotions and lives even when wholly in the fantasy realm.

I give this book 5 out of 5 clouds and anxiously await book 3.

Synopsis:

The handsome Angel from Lailah gets center stage in this continuation of Wattpad sensation Nikki Kelly’s romantic and action-packed series about mortals, vampires, and angels.

Gabriel is an Angel Descendant. He's also an ally to a generation of vampires who want to break away from the demon who controls them. His faith in the power of good over evil wavers, however, when he discovers that Lailah, the woman he considers his only true love, may be both angel and demon. Is their love enough to overcome the dark forces who are ready to go to war with Gabriel, the vampire Jonah, and the angel and vampire forces? And can Gabriel compete with Jonah, who is also in love with Lailah?

Once again, Nikki Kelly looks deeply into the heart and soul of good and evil to create a romantic, action-packed reading adventure.

LAILAH is my debut novel, and first launched in serial form to wattpad, a readers & writers community. Within just 6months, LAILAH had over a million reads and thousands of comments and votes.
Since then, The Styclar Saga has gone on to pick up a traditional deal with Feiwel & Friends, and LAILAH, the first book in the series is due for release on October 7th 2014.
These days I spend my time balancing my amazing job of writing fantasy fiction, with my other, very important role of Chocolate Connoisseur. I like to multitask and do the two together. It makes me happy.
