The Bridge of Deaths review

Book Review of The Bridge of Deaths sponsored by Innovative Book Tour

Book Description

Follow Bill and Maggie in London 2010 as they explore the events of August 15th 1939. When at the brink of World War II, an English plane crashed and sunk in Danish waters. Five deaths were reported: two Standard Oil of New Jersey employees, a German Corporate Lawyer, an English member of Parliament, and a crew member for the airline. Bill and Maggie find a conceivable version of the events.

This is the way that the author described it :

The Bridge of Deaths is a cross genre. It has a huge historical, documented background, But it is as a reviewer so aptly wrote not "regurgitated History" I dug personally through archives and file and went to sources and found mistakes in history books, as well as explored an event that had never been properly documented. Another reviewer called it Casablanca with a touch of the modern.

I also used several psychics, and they through the use of psychometry told me "what they saw"...and as impossible as it sounds all their stories matched.

I also used documented past life regressions from a source who wishes to remain anonymous.

To tie it all together and make it a read and not a tedious history/paranormal lesson I created character's , one is a creative expression of myself she is lonely and obsessed, I am married, busy with a teenage son and this was a part of my life, but not the core of my existence.

So it has been called a Historical, Paranormal, Mystery, Romance. But it is first and foremost a "thinking" book.

Anyhow, once you become familiar with it, let me know how you think we should approach it

Book Review:

This was an interesting book for the historical content and the conspiracy theory.  There was a lot of historical background, somewhat overwhelming at times.  Occasionally the historical content overwhelmed the pleasure of the story.  Indeed at times it reminded me the excessive information in Moby Dick.

The basic story was excellent, but I got lost in the detail to the loss of the story.  I do think that much of the information could have been left out or presented differently and the story would have been improved.

I give this story 3 out of 5 clouds.

Book Synopsis:

Even the divine have a dark side…
Take a journey into a world where the forgotten reign as King and Queen.  Explore a “reality” where the divine give meaning and substance to the concept of IMMORTALITY.
These menacing tales feature beings of divinity from angels, demons, gods, goddesses, to personifications of divine principals.  No other worldly being is safe.  The sparkly undead and wild shaggy dogs have no place in this anthology of dark proportions.
Can you handle it?

Teaser Excerpt

Malachi landed gracefully in the alleyway next to the coffee shop. He enfolded his wings and put on his white knee length wool duster. It wasn’t particularly cold outside but a continuous cool breeze did warrant some coverage. He was growing bored. It had been a while since he was assigned to watch over anyone and the lack of occupation was beginning to aggravate him. To combat the growing feelings of loneliness, Malachi had taken to spending afternoons in a pub in lower Scotland reading books. It didn’t squelch the loneliness but it did give him some sort of comfort being near his home of birth. At least what was left of what he considered his “home.” It had been centuries since he had actually lived here, or lived at all for that matter and the last of his living relatives were long deceased…just like him.

Well not completely like him…

About S.K. Whiteside
S.K. Whiteside is a writer of Paranormal/Fantasy, Horror, and Suspense. As a full time Mental Health Counselor, she started writing in Academia but decided writing about things on the “other side of the veil” was a lot more interesting. Living in the Paranormal capital of the world makes it fairly easy for her to come up with characters, many of which are based off of real personas in her life that are so vibrant they can’t help but carry over into her writing.

S.K. Whiteside is a Fiction Weaver and World Creator. It just so happens that the worlds she creates are often filled with things that go bump in the night. A New Orleanian at heart, the Deep South often serves as the setting for her Paranormal Tales of the unknown. Her Charismatic characters and snarky banter often derive from the various personas of those she loves and the voices in her head. When not writing she spends her time telling everyone else in the world that they are completely bonkers but yet she often channels Napoleon Bonaparte. During her down time she pokes at the massive giant whom holds her captive and runs from two monsters that she swears are out to kill her. Some people call them her husband and children but she knows the truth...

Book Review:

Strange stories, but definitely interesting.  The stories range from Guardian angels giving up their wings for love to demons working with police to remove drugs from the street that allow people to change shapes.

I found the stories interesting, intriguing, disturbing, and somewhat scary that the authors came up with these stories in their twisted little minds.  I find it even scarier that I know people that could write these stories also.

I give the book overall a score of 4 out of 5 clouds.  Some stories are higher and some lower, but overall pretty good.

Book Review of Virgil sponsored by Pump Up Your Book Tours

Book Synopsis:

Virgil was no ordinary man. He had once fought alongside some of the world’s greatest heroes and saved entire cities from the brink of destruction. But after violently killing a young suspect, he was left on the wrong side of the law. Rather than be locked up, he opted to have the source of his powers removed, and to live out the rest of his days in his hometown watching the world go by without him.
Five years later, he had settled into his new life. Until one night, when he heard a kidnapped girl’s screams and came to her rescue. Reinvigorated by a feeling he hadn’t experienced in years, Virgil decides to become his city’s lone vigilante, even though he no longer has his power. But as he will soon learn, every action has a consequence and his world may very well crumble down around him.

Book Review:

Most superhero movies or comics have the idea that with great power comes great responsibility.  It’s even stated in Spiderman, and in this book.  Virgil is the story of one man, a former superhero, who couldn’t control his power and was irresponsible.  His irresponsibility resulted in limits being placed on those with superpowers; of course, what that really resulted in was that the superhero’s had limits and the supervillains did whatever they wanted.

Virgil used to be the world’s greatest superhero, Monolith.  Now he’s just a cog in the wheel of life.  His superpowers were removed and he works and goes home alone, that is his life.  Until one day he saves a girl from his neighbor, and his ardor for saving people returns.  Unfortunately so does his streak of hurting people while trying to do good.

In the end the one mistake he made has a greater impact on him, others, and the world than anyone could have suspected.  A rambling story of adventure, rage, revenge, heroes, villains, and those caught in the crossfire.  The story is a good one despite the seemingly, at times, rambling of the narrative.  This is a story of one man trying to do good, and another man’s anger… and the woman in their life.

I give this story 3.5 out of 5 clouds.

Book Review:

Aislinn and Dylan are given gifts by various people to help them on their journey.  The spheres continue to guide them and tell them they must open the portal to save humanity.  People seem to know they are coming, on both sides… good and evil.

Aislinn and Dylan meet three people who give them gifts to help with their journey, including Angelica who could be Aislinn’s sister or daughter.

This story continues to be fascinating.  I hang on every word and the book races by, ending before I realize.  The writing is fast paced, intense, and pushes the action along with the reader hanging on as the story flies by.

I give part 4 of the Samsara Chronicles 4 out of 5 clouds.
