Book Review:

I like Claire; I think we would be friends.  I love that this book is about her being a survivor and taking her life into her own hands… even if it is reluctantly and with a good deal of prodding.

The book is also terribly romantic.  The plot is somewhat redundant to romance books, but in a sweet way… and after all don’t we read romance novels for that the guy gets the girl, says all the right things, and they overcome all odds to find happily ever after together?  Hollywood Ever After gives us all those things set against the backdrop of the glamour of Hollywood, stars, sunshine, shopping, and the beach.  What a perfect setting for love.

I give this book 4 out of 5 clouds.

The paper version of this book will be available January 1, 2012 on http://tinyurl.com/82rs8s7.

JM and her husband John reside with two crazy cats who rule the roost in New England. Their home is surrounded by a forest, a nearby reservoir and natures creatures.

Book Review:

Photobucket            Would you believe someone if they told you they could see Fairies?  Would you think they were up to something if dead bodies kept showing up at their home/business?  If all these things happened would you propose to someone you just me?  I’m not sure I would, but that’s what happens in this book.

Such a cute book.  I loved how the relationship between Luna and Devin developed.  It was fabulous how Devin stood up for Luna against her ex-husband even when he wasn’t really sure about her.

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 clouds.

Interview with Kay Jaybee author of The Perfect Submissive

Dear Kay Jaybee, I appreciate your taking the time to visit with us today.
1.          What character was your favorite to write for in this story? Why?
That’s a really tricky question, for I became quite attached to all the characters in The Perfect Submissive- even the domineering Mrs Peters. However, I think my favourite has to be Jess Sanders, the brand new member of staff at the Fables Hotel. When the novel begins, Jess has no idea that the hotel’s fifth floor is kept exclusively for adult entertainment purposes- and that her new boss Mrs Peters, had designs on turning her into a submissive on the hotel’s payroll.
I enjoyed the challenge of turning Jess from a shy young admin clerk, who’s hardly had a sex life at all, into a sexually experienced submissive, with a growing hidden resolve that keeps her going through whatever is thrown at her. I loved watching Jess develop as she slowly accepted that Mrs Peters might be right - she could well be the perfect candidate for the Fables Hotel’s submissive assistant.
2.          Which was your favorite scene to write?
My favourite scene as a writer appears in Chapter 3. The artist, Sam Wheeler has been staying at the hotel, and has prickled the curiosity of both Mrs Peters professional and personal nature. Having cajoled him into staying a little longer at the hotel with the suggestion of some erotic fun, Mrs Peters takes unexpected control of Sam in the confines of the staff lift- and before he has really registered the situation, she has him naked, handcuffed, and at her delicious mercy...
3.          What was the hardest thing about writing this story?
Some of the scenes in the novel have the characters placed in interesting and unusual physical positions- especially towards the end of the book (I am not saying how!). The hardest thing was to make sure that the images inside my head translated to the page clearly enough for the reader to visualise them as well I did.
4.          What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I guess my main quirk is that I write all my stories, be they short tales, novella’s, or novel’s, by hand first with my faithful ballpoint pen, into one of my vast collection of notebooks. Only when a story or chapter is complete, do I type it onto my laptop; editing as I go.
5.          Where do you find your Inspirations?
My inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere. A story idea can be sparked by a sound, a smell, an overheard conversation, or simply a picture or quote. In the case of The Perfect Submissive, my imagination was sparked by wondering what lay behind the doors of a very ordinary looking business hotel I saw from my train window as I travelled to London a few years ago.  Needless to say, my mind didn’t stop at considering the hotel guest’s meals, meetings, and sleeping quarters!
6.          Please let readers know where they can connect with you and purchase your books...  Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
If your readers would like to catch up with me anytime, I have a website which holds information about all of my work, including The Perfect Submissive, (in both its paperback and e- formats). I can also be contacted via Twitter and Facebook- the links for which can also be found on my website- www.kayjaybee.me.uk

Book Review:

I loved the improbable idea that is the basis for this story.  The idea that you could change the past in the current time by following certain steps as foretold by a seer or witch is fascinating.

The story is well written, humorous, suspenseful, and exciting.  I enjoyed seeing what happened at each step.  I recommend this book.

I give this book 4 out of 5 clouds.

In her thought-provoking, uplifting new novel, Shobhan Bantwal vividly blends the nuances of contemporary Indian-American culture with an unconventional romance. . .
At thirty-one, Meena Shenoy has a fulfilling career at a New Jersey high-tech firm. Not that it impresses her mother and aunts, who make dire predictions about her ticking biological clock. Men are drawn to Meena's dainty looks and she dates regularly, but hasn't met someone who really intrigues her. Someone professional, ambitious, confident, caring. Someone like her new boss, Prajay Nayak.

Just as Meena's thoughts turn to romance, Prajay makes an astonishing request. He wants her to craft a personal ad that will help him find a suitable wife: a statuesque, sophisticated Indian-American woman who will complement his striking height.
Despite her attraction to Prajay and the complications of balancing work and her "marriage consultant" role, Meena can't refuse the generous fee. And as her family is thrown into turmoil by her brother's relationship with a Muslim woman, Meena comes to surprising realizations about love, tradition, and the sacrifices she will--and won't--make for the sake of both.

Book Review:

This book is set on the Eastern Coast of the United States within the Hindi culture, generally Indian (as in from India).  I have a brother in law who is Indian and have had two foreign exchange students from Pakistan, so I have quite a bit of knowledge about the culture.  However, this book does a great job of explaining the culture especially the concept of arranged marriages and marrying within your caste.

Not only does the book explain talk about cultural issues, but it is also a charming story.  I love the exploration of the struggle first generation American children have in the pull between their traditional culture their parents still honor and the American ways they have been raised in.

I totally enjoyed this story.  I give this book 5 out of 5 clouds.

Book Review:

Sigh!! I love a good love story, and this was a good love story.  I especially like the 29 reasons Rose should move to live with Joe.  I want someone to write a list for me ;) .  (Although I can’t complain, my Business Manager husband wrote me a poem).

This story is delightful, enjoyable, funny (love the snarky comments between Rose and Mason), sad, tense (it is also a mystery), funny again (love the next door neighbor), and sexy.  I give this story 4 out of 5 clouds.
